Pool Side Basketball Hoop Base Plate

A quick and easy repair of a faulty housing bracket for a poolside basketball hoop. The existing concrete had to be removed because of cracking and a new bracket was installed. SikaGrout® High Performance Grout was a great solution for this repair. Prior to pouring SikaGrout, I sprayed SikaLatex® R to the existing surface to help improve the bond and strength.

Supplies & Tools

  • SikaGrout High Performance Grout (1 bag)
  • Paddle Mixer & Drill
  • Concrete Saw
  • 5 Gal. Bucket
  • 5 Qt. Mixing Bucket
  • Masonry Hammer Drill

Step 1: Concrete Saw

Using a concrete saw, cut around the damaged concrete giving yourself a nice symetrical area to begin your repair.

Step 3: Mixing

Easy to use, just add water. Mix with a low-speed drill (400–600 rpm) and mixing paddle or in appropriately sized mortar mixer. Make sure all forming, mixing, placing, and clean-up materials are on hand. Add appropriate quantity of clean water to achieve the desired flow. Add a bag of SikaGrout. Mix to a uniform consistency, minimum of 2 minutes.
